Sapori is the recipe app for people who actually cook — capture any recipe, cook with what you already have, plan your week, and keep your whole flavor collection in one place. This page walks you through everything, from your first minute to the power features.

60-second Quick Start
Three things to try first — they’re the heart of Sapori:
- 1 · Save a recipe — tap the + button on Home, choose Import from link, paste any recipe URL, and Sapori pulls out the ingredients and steps for you. Tap Save.
- 2 · Cook it — open the recipe and tap Cook Mode for big, hands-free, step-by-step instructions with built-in timers.
- 3 · Use what you have — on Home, tap ✨ Pantry Mode, add a few ingredients you’ve got, and see recipes you can make right now.
Setting up your account
When you first open Sapori, create an account with your email — or with one tap using Apple or Google. You’ll then choose any dietary needs and your favorite cuisines; this personalizes your suggestions and you can change it anytime in Settings. Signing in keeps your recipes safely backed up and synced across your devices.
Capturing recipes
Tap the floating + button on the Home tab. You have two ways to capture a recipe:
- 🔗 Import from link — paste any recipe URL. Sapori reads the page and extracts just the title, ingredients, and steps — no pop-ups or filler. Review and tweak anything, then save.
- 📷 Scan a photo — snap a cookbook page or a handwritten recipe card, and Sapori turns it into a clean, editable recipe.
After saving, your cover photo may take a few seconds to appear while we fetch it — that’s normal.
Inside a recipe
- Scale servings — drag the servings control and the ingredient amounts adjust automatically.
- Smart substitutions — tap an ingredient to get AI-suggested swaps when you’re missing something.
- Nutrition estimate — generate a per-recipe nutrition estimate in a tap.
- Favorite & organize — tap the heart to favorite, or add the recipe to a collection.
- Notes tab — for your own recipes, keep private notes, mark a recipe “Make again,” and see a log of every time you’ve cooked it.
Cook Mode
From any recipe, tap Cook Mode for a full-screen, one-step-at-a-time view with extra-large text. Your screen stays awake so you’re not tapping with messy hands, and steps that need timing have a timer built right in. Finish the last step to rate how it turned out — it’s saved to your cook history.
Pantry Mode
Not sure what to make? On the Home tab, tap ✨ Pantry Mode, add the ingredients you have on hand, and Sapori finds recipes you can cook right now — less takeout, less waste.
Meal Planner
Open the Meal Planner tab to see your week as a calendar. Tap any day and add recipes from your library. Plan breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a glance.
Grocery lists
Open the Grocery tab and tap Generate from meal plan — Sapori combines every ingredient from your planned recipes into one tidy list. Check items off as you shop, and clear what you’ve grabbed.
Discover
The Discover tab has a curated collection from the Sapori Kitchen plus recipes shared by the community. Found something you love? Save it to your library in a tap.
Collections
Group recipes your way — Weeknight Dinners, Holiday Baking, Mom’s Recipes — from the Home tab or your Library. Your whole collection, sorted how you think about food.

Sapori Pro
Every feature in Sapori is free. Sapori Pro isn’t a paywall — it’s an optional way to support a small indie team and get new features first. Troubleshooting
- A recipe wouldn’t import. Some sites block automated access. Sapori will show a friendly message — use Scan a Photo instead, or try a different link.
- The cover photo didn’t show. It can take a few seconds to fetch. If it’s still missing, pull down to refresh the recipe. (A few sites protect their images; the recipe itself still imports fine.)
- I forgot my password. On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and we’ll email you a reset link. Open it, set a new password, then sign in.
- I didn’t get a confirmation or reset email. Check your spam folder — our emails come from noreply@sapori.app. Still nothing after a few minutes? Contact us.
- Reminders aren’t firing. Make sure notifications are allowed for Sapori in your phone’s system Settings, and that meal-plan reminders are turned on in the app’s Settings.
- My subscription isn’t showing after reinstalling. Tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
